The Hive

The HIVE, not to be confused with BEE tokens, is the system at the center of Ratel Cartel, and the key to its sustainable long-term economic growth and prosperity. The HIVE leverages external inflows to generate income for the economy as a whole. The Hive is a pool of money generated by economic activity that incurs yield over time, and its principal only increases in value as only the yield is paid out. Therefore, New players are not paying existing players as it tends to be a bad practice. Economic activity creates a bigger pool, which creates more yield, which creates more rewards. This cycle is self-reinforcing. This system creates buying pressure on HONEY tokens. We believe this system is the golden key to sustainable Play to Earn games.

Powering The HIVE

The Hive will initially be seeded by income that is generated from pre-sales of NFTs and Tokens. Then, the HIVE will kick off the yield generation and rewards for participants of the economy. Whenever a player participates in economic activity such as minting a Cartel Member, promoting a Cub, buying or crafting a weapon, participating in the marketplace, buying street corners/land, or any other activity which creates an inflow for the reward system, a portion of those tokens are then used to power up the HIVE. Once again, this exact percentage figure should be decided by consensus. Thus, the HIVE creates a virtuous cycle of value creation. The more powerful the Hive becomes, the more yield it can generate, the more incentivized players are to participate in the ecosystem, the more economic activity occurring, and the more potent the Hive becomes.

Hive Overflow

When thinking about player rewards, we can run a simple formula to determine what the max amount of rewards a Cartel Member is eligible for in a day by saying;

DailyPlayerRewards=HiveYield/APY/365/TotalCartelMembersDaily Player Rewards = HiveYield / APY / 365/TotalCartelMembers

Because this is the rewards ceiling, it allows us to know when the Player did not reach the max amount of rewards possible in a single day. Not achieving maximum daily rewards can occur because Cartel Members did not complete all their fights or were bested by some enemies. On either occasion, this unrealized profit is carried over into The HIVE Overflow. The HIVE Overflow is a pool of money that can be randomly won by any Cartel Member fighting a battle. After winning a victorious battle, you'll have a chance to tap all the income being held by the Hive Overflow. For example, if every Cartel Member was eligible to earn 1 HONEY token in a battle, Cartel Members lost 1000 battles on that day, and 1000 battles went unfought. Then the HIVE Overflow would be 2000 HONEYs, and any Cartel Member now has the chance of winning those 2000 HONEYs on every fight. So the Hive Overflow will continue to grow until someone wins it.

HIVE Ideology

We believe that this idea of The HIVE is one of the only sustainable economic methods for a play and earn game. Other methods rely heavily or exclusively on the need for new players to continue to flood their money into the game to play veteran players. We do not believe that to be a fair nor sustainable practice. We have also watched that classic model fail time and time again.
