Player Interaction

Forming a Gang

On the Ratel Cartel Discord channel, players can meet and and agree to form alliances and gangs outside of the game. A gang must consist of one Made Member and at least 3 Cubs. An in-game function will allow these players to register the members of their gang at the start of the game season. Alternatively at the start of a season all unaffiliated players will be posted on the in-game players list, and have the chance to join gangs this way. Players can choose to play solo, but there is strength in numbers.

Weapons and SC (Street Cred points) quantifies a player's strength, and illustrates his potential value to a gang.

Free to Play

Players can play the game with no NFT, and they will be issued a generic Ratel character when they set up a Ratel game account. Free-To-Play Ratels (FTPRs) can accumulate SC points and weaponry like a Cub can, but any HONEY an FTPR accumulates will be burned at the end of the gaming season.

This means they will not be included on the P2E leaderboard and will receive no BEEs payout.

FTPRs can be picked up by a gang and loaned an NFT to P2E for that season by the gang members. The player can also negotiate with an NFT holder on Discord to loan an NFT and access P2E that way. Because an FTPR can accumulate SC, he can learn the game and play for free, whilst increasing his potential value to existing gangs.

As a Made Member you can instruct your Cubs to perform different tasks, such as pay one to tip off the cops about a rival player or gang, or pay one to leave your employment and to join another gang and spy on them for you. A tip-off means that Officer Warthog or a Deputy will attack your chosen enemy when they travel to their next location (you will be notified of the outcome). A spy, on the other hand, will present himself to the enemy as a friendly Cub wanting to be recruited. If your enemy accepts the Cub into their gang, you will then be able to see information about the enemy whenever you like.

Battles

When you attack another player's gang, or another player attacks you, the main screen which normally lists Stash prices at the current location is replaced by the battle screen. The battle screen will display the players health.

When in a fight with another player and his gang, your options are to shoot, not shoot, or run from the fight. Be aware that if you fail to shoot back at your enemy within five seconds, they can fire at you again (otherwise, shots alternate between you and your enemy). A players strength is calculated from the power of the weaponry he carries and his SC rating. A gang’s collective strength is a combination of the weapons they are carrying, along with the combined total of the players’ SC. Wealth in HONEY tokens and the total value of stash items carried does not affect an outcome.

When the player's health reaches zero from incurring too much damage, he is out of the game unless he purchases more health with HONEY tokens. This will be expensive, so strategy must be employed to minimize damage.

These parameters determines the probability of success in a battle with a rival gang of players, or with a confrontation with Officer Warthog and his deputies.
